Peer Review Process

Rumoh: Journal of Architecture follows a double-blind peer review process to uphold the quality and fairness of its scholarly content. In this system, both authors and reviewers remain anonymous to each other, helping to ensure that evaluations are based on the merit of the work rather than personal or institutional affiliations. Each manuscript is reviewed by at least one to two qualified reviewers with relevant expertise. The editorial team selects reviewers based on their scholarly background, publication record, and alignment with the manuscript’s thematic and methodological focus.

The review process proceeds as follows:

  1. Initial Screening: The Editor-in-Chief conducts an initial check to ensure the manuscript aligns with the journal’s scope, formatting guidelines, and ethical standards. Submissions that do not meet these criteria are returned without further review.
  2. Assignment to Managing Editors: Eligible manuscripts are assigned to Managing Editors, who oversee the peer review process and identify suitable reviewers including avoid conflicts of interest between authors and reviewers.
  3. Reviewer Invitation: At least one or two external reviewers with relevant expertise are invited.
  4. Double-Blind Review: Reviewers assess the anonymized manuscript based on originality, methodology, clarity, and relevance to architectural discourse, and provide a recommendation (accept or revision required).
  5. Editorial Decision: The Managing Editor synthesizes the reviewers’ feedback and makes a decision.
  6. Author Notification: Authors receive the decision along with anonymized comments. If revisions are required, they are given a deadline to submit a revised version with a detailed response to the reviewers’ comments.
  7. Paper Revision by Author: Authors revise their manuscript according to the feedback and resubmit it for further evaluation.
  8. Final Decision: The revised manuscript is reviewed again, and if all concerns are adequately addressed, it is accepted for publication.
